How we verify

What matters most is how reliable and how recent our teahouse information is, not how many lodges we list. Himalayan Wonders trekking guides report what they see on the trail: opening status, amenities, rooms and beds. Each report is dated and attributed. It also has an expiry. Once a report expires, we show a lower level of confidence automatically.

What each availability state means

  • Instantly bookable

Inventory is guaranteed through a contractual allocation and can be confirmed automatically.

  • Recently confirmed

Manually verified within its freshness window, but not guaranteed. Final lodge confirmation may be required.

  • Request availability

The lodge accepts enquiries, but current inventory has not been verified sufficiently.

  • Unavailable

Confirmed as sold out, blocked or closed.

  • Unknown

There is no dependable availability information.

What every result tells you

  • When it was last verified, and by what source
  • How it was verified (in person, by phone, by contract, or desk research)
  • Our confidence, and how a booking would be confirmed

We never call availability "live" unless it is backed by guaranteed inventory and current field reports.
